Business finance chiefs are less likely to be certified accountants, according to brand-new survey by professional services gigantic Ernst & Young, highlighting a big deviation in the standard profession course for chief monetary policeman’s, and a pattern that expert bodies such as CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants are acutely familiar with.

The study of almost 800 CFOs worldwide, consisting of 50 from Australia, reveals that, worldwide, 60 percent are not certified accountants, although in Australia and New Zealand this dropped to 10 percent.

Ireland does not have forward planning, says previous Department of Finance chief

The former secretary general of the Department of Finance has actually criticized the Government's lack of forward preparing.

L&T Finance eyes consolidation in quote to improve returns

L&T Finance Holdings Ltd, the financial services arm of engineering and building group Larsen and Toubro Ltd (L&T), is consolidating its companies as it looks for to improve shareholder returns.

The plan consists of exiting four lending items and finding a buyer for investments held by the firms personal equity fund.

In an interview, L&T Finance chairman and handling director Y.M. Deosthalee said the company will lower emphasis on businesses that do not offer appropriate returns on equity.
